Under spend due to withdrawal of Little Sports coaches. Monies will be carried over to next year to help provide a new initiative of PE themed days each half term.

 Impact of spend:

Due to unforeseen circumstances specialist lunchtime coaches were unable to honour their commitment for the entire academic year. However, Year 5 and 6 Sports Leaders were trained by Freddie Fit and they assisted and successfully lead activities during lunchtime. They also helped at sporting events throughout the school calendar. As always, Freddie Fit sessions are a hit with the pupils. Pupil voice clearly shows they would like this to continue.

New lacrosse equipment has been purchased, and supported the successful running of an after school sporting activity. New tubs and play equipment has been purchased to promote fun physical activity at playtimes. Following an audit of key stage 1 and 2 equipment, new equipment was purchased to facilitate the delivery of high quality games lessons. Due to high quality CPD training in invasion games, staff felt more confident in their planning and delivery of this aspect of games.

An all-weather running track has been installed to aid with the Daily Mile. This has increased pupil’s activity levels on a daily basis. Pupil voice has shown us that the children feel their fitness levels have improved as has their enjoyment of outdoor running. The children have been encouraged to set personal targets of time/ distance. They also valued the time to self-regulate and promote their own well-being.  Staff voice has been particularly positive as most felt that their well -being was being catered for and that their fitness levels had improved.  After further spending on a path to the track, staff found access easier.  All classes from Nursery to Year 6 have daily access to the track. Further to this, it was used as part of Sports Day for timed long distance running.
