Bowker Vale School Uniform
All our children are expected to wear a school uniform, as this fosters an identity, belonging and pride of our school.
Children are to wear;
- blue school sweatshirts or cardigans,
- a white polo t-shirt
- black or grey trousers, shorts, skirts or pinafore
- black school shoes or trainers
Wearing jewellery is not allowed, with the exception of stud earrings, a Kara and watches – which must be removed for PE.
Long hair should be tied back without fashion accessories (bobbles and clips are acceptable).
For PE, children should wear;
- a pale blue logo t-shirt,
- black shorts/leggings
- either black trainers (not pumps) or bare feet (indoors)
All clothes should be clearly labelled. We end up with so many items in lost property that aren't labelled!
For swimming, children should wear;
- Boys – a pair of traditional swimming trunks. No Bermuda or long shorts.
- Girls – a one piece swimming costume (no bikinis)
- Swimming hats must be worn by boys and girls who have long hair
Uniform is available from Ziggy’s School Wear North City Shopping Centre, 20, Lee Rd, Manchester M9 4DH.
Uniform Support and Pre-Loved Uniform
We recognise that uniform shopping can be expensive, especially when you have nore than one child and we can help out with any family in need. We work with Wood Street Mission - a charity that provides new uniforms and gifts at Christmas, Easter and Eid.
We also have lots of good quality, second hand uniforms available to any of you at any time - just pop in and ask the office or any of the school adults.
If you would like to donate good quality and washed school uniform that your children have grown out of, please see Mrs Heald - at the moment we have too much spare uniform to accept any more.
Mrs Heald or the office staff can always help, please just call in.
