General

  • Through a highly successful team building session initiated by Freddie Fit, purchasing the appropriate equipment has been beneficial to the pupils. This has helped keep them motivated and enthusiastic. They have also repeated some of the activities during lunchtime with their friends.
  • As always, Freddie Fit sessions are a hit with the pupils. Pupil voice clearly shows they would like this to continue.
  • All weather surface has been installed around the climbing wall to ensure that the children have all year round access. Children have been able to use the wall as part of playtime; however, this needs to be developed further to ensure they have the ability to independently access the resource safely.
  • Through a more targeted approach to after school clubs, we were able to enter Inter school’s competitions including events such as football, netball, and tag rugby.
  • Lunchtime incidents have continued to fall due to the wide variety of sporting activities on offer to the children.  This has also helped to increase pupils' Sport and PE participation and had a positive impact on attainment evidenced in PE and Games lessons.
  • All staff received CPD training delivered by a qualified Manchester City coach, this has increased staff confidence with teaching and delivering outdoor PE sessions. The children thoroughly enjoyed these sessions and developed new skills which they were able to apply in completion activities in the sessions.
  • Sports leaders have been in place this year and have been able to help with running of sporting activities throughout school. They have supported during CPD sessions and at sports day. Next year we will develop this further, with support from Freddie Fit Training sessions.

Impact and sustainability

  • In an effort to monitor sustainability, PE Theme Team meet regularly to ensure sharing of good practice and implementation of new initiatives are taking place.
  • Action Plans are monitored half termly in an effort to ensure everything PE related is on track.
  • The use of target tracker is now in place to monitor the attainment and progress of PE and Sport on pupils.  These are updated termly.
