From September 2026, FSM eligibility will be expanded so that all children from households in receipt of Universal credit will be entitled to free school meals.
In order to receive free school meals parents MUST APPLY (please click here). If you are unable to apply directly through the link, then please speak to the school office to obtain a FSM application form. Once this is complete the office staff can apply on your behalf.
If your child is recorded as being entitled to Free School Meals, they will receive a free school lunch each day and the school may also receive additional funding to support your child’s education.
Even if your child currently has packed lunches and does not wish to take up a free school meal, we would still strongly encourage parents and carers to apply. Registering for Free School Meals allows the school to receive additional funding, known as Pupil Premium Funding, which is used to support children across the school through additional resources, interventions, educational support, enrichment opportunities and wellbeing provision.
The criteria for free school meals has been expanded and even if you believe you circumstances may have changed recently, please apply even if you have not qualified in the past.
