Sport Premium Funding
The Primary PE and Sport premium has been partly used to fund CPD training of NQTs at Bowker Vale, covering gymnastics, dance, games and OAA. This will have a substantial impact on the school as the staff can apply new skills to the pupils they teach.
The school has invested in high quality coaches for specialised sports at lunchtime, which has expanded and enriched the lunchtime program that is offered. Pupils make decisions and play an active role in their own learning using ‘pupil voice’ to inform teachers of the activities they would like to experience.
The funds have allowed the school to purchase a greater range of PE and Sports equipment to enable Quality First Teaching in PE and Games. In addition to this, it has helped provide the newly formed Football and Netball teams with equipment, so they can participate in various inter-school tournaments around Manchester.
Bowker Vale has invested in a new interactive dance scheme, as this was a strand of PE some teachers highlighted as an area for their own further development.
Further plans are in place to enrich the children’s lives with greater access to OAA, making use of facilities in the area that many children would not otherwise use.
